1. Overview
CranialLab is an interactive educational platform for 3D cranial anatomy visualization and study. The platform includes software, 3D models, images, videos, annotations, and related educational tools.
All content is provided for educational and non-commercial use only, unless explicitly licensed in writing.
Your use of CranialLab is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using CranialLab, you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, you must discontinue use of the platform.
3. Intellectual Property Ownership
All content and systems within CranialLab are the exclusive property of CranialLab, including but not limited to:
3D anatomical models and reconstructions
Interactive viewer software and rendering system
Educational text, labels, and annotations
UI/UX design, layout, and visual identity
Code, data structures, and proprietary workflows
Images, screenshots, and exported media generated from the platform
Trademarks, including the name "CranialLab," the CranialLab logo, and any associated brand identifiers, which are trademarks of CranialLab, whether registered or unregistered. No license to use these trademarks is granted by these Terms
All content on the platform is authored by Jared Dubey, DO, and held by Stillwater Osteopathic Medicine LLC
All rights are reserved.
No ownership or intellectual property rights are transferred through use of the platform.
4. Permitted Educational Use
CranialLab grants users a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to:
View and interact with content for personal education, teaching, and clinical learning
Use exported or downloaded images and videos generated within the platform for:
Personal study
Classroom teaching
Academic conference presentations
Continuing medical education course materials, provided:
The CranialLab content is used only as supporting educational material
CranialLab content is not the primary product being sold
"Primary product" means content where CranialLab media constitutes a substantial portion of the instructional or commercial value of the offering
When sharing exported media, attribution to CranialLab is required where reasonably possible.
5. Restricted Commercial Uses
Users may NOT:
Sell, license, or redistribute CranialLab content (including exported images/videos) as standalone assets
Include CranialLab content in paid products, including:
Online courses sold as products
Subscription content libraries
Educational platforms where CranialLab content is a primary deliverable
Use content in advertising, marketing, or promotion of commercial products or services, except as incidental to permitted educational use
Extract, reconstruct, or reuse 3D models or underlying geometry
Reverse engineer or replicate the CranialLab viewer or system
Remove, obscure, or fail to provide required attribution where applicable
Use CranialLab content, models, or outputs to train machine learning or AI systems
Embed the Explorer application or any portion of CranialLab via iframe, frame, or similar technique on any third-party website, application, or platform without prior written permission
Use CranialLab content in a manner that could reasonably imply endorsement of any commercial product, service, or clinical practice
Use automated tools, scrapers, bots, or similar technology to extract content from CranialLab
6. Donations and Payments (Stripe)
CranialLab may accept voluntary donations via Stripe or other payment providers.
Donations do not create any implied license, partnership, or ownership interest
Donations do not grant any additional usage rights beyond those explicitly stated in these Terms
All content access remains governed by the permitted educational use license
7. Educational & Professional Disclaimer
CranialLab is intended as a supplemental educational resource for the study of cranial anatomy and related concepts.
It does not provide training, certification, or qualification in the practice of medicine, osteopathy, or any other healthcare discipline.
Use of CranialLab does not establish clinical competency, credentialing, or licensure.
The platform is not a substitute for:
Formal osteopathic education
Accredited training programs
Supervised clinical experience
Hands-on instruction and mentorship
8. Disclaimer of Warranties
CranialLab is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness, and uninterrupted availability.
We make no warranty that CranialLab will be error-free, that defects will be corrected, or that content will be accurate or current. The 3D models represent generalized anatomical archetypes and do not capture the full range of individual anatomical variation present in living patients.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall CranialLab, its operators, contributors, or affiliates be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, revenue, data, or use, arising out of or related to your use of CranialLab, regardless of the legal theory, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
In any case, our total cumulative liability for any claim arising out of or related to CranialLab shall not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars ($100) or, if greater, the total amount you have paid us (excluding voluntary donations) in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so portions of this section may not apply to you.
10. User Submissions
If you submit feedback, comments, suggestions, ideas, questions, or other content to CranialLab through any channel, including the contact form, email, or social media ("Submissions"), you agree that:
Submissions are not confidential and we have no obligation to treat them as such
You grant CranialLab a perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, worldwide, sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, publish, and incorporate Submissions into CranialLab or related materials, without compensation or attribution to you
You represent and warrant that you own or have the right to share any Submission and that it does not violate any third-party rights
11. Enforcement & Termination
CranialLab reserves the right to:
Restrict or revoke access for misuse or violation of these Terms
Disable access to exported content functionality in cases of abuse
Pursue legal remedies for unauthorized commercial use or redistribution of assets
12. Changes to Terms
These Terms may be updated periodically. Continued use of CranialLab constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
13. Governing Law, Jurisdiction, and Severability
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to its conflict of law principles. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of CranialLab shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Dane County, Wisconsin, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of such courts.
If any provision of these Terms is held to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect, and the invalid provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable while preserving its intent.
These Terms constitute the entire agreement between you and CranialLab regarding the subject matter herein and supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications.
